Mandatory Placement Tests

For some language courses it is mandatory to take a placement test, this means we can place you in the right level. Below you will find information about which language courses require a placement test:

• English: mandatory placement test. Please see information about the online placement test under: “Language courses” - “English courses”
• French: mandatory online placement test. This placement test takes place before the registration period for both the semester and holiday courses. You can find more information under "Französischkurse” - “Einstufungstest" (German website).
• Italian: mandatory placement test, to be downloaded and self-corrected. You can find more information under “Italienischkurse” - “Einstufungstest” (German website).
• Spanish: mandatory placement test, to be downloaded and self-corrected. You can find more information under “Spanischkurse” - “Einstufungstest” (German website).

There is no placement test required for the other languages. You should place yourself in the appropriate level according to the level description and the course book used in that language course. If you are unsure, we will be more than happy to advise you.
